Frequently Asked Questions

Glamping is short for glamorous camping – A luxury experience in beautiful harmony with primitive camping elements. We have done our best to design an experience where you can enjoy the comfort of quality furniture and exquisite interior design solutions. We also made you an equipment box that contains goods you would otherwise carry in your backpack. The outdoor area close to the igloo is also designed for relaxation.

There is no electricity in the igloo, so make sure to charge your phones prior to arrival. If you’re the bolder type, we recommend that you put your phone away during your visit, and soak into nature and reflection.

The toilets are traditional Norwegian “utedo”, meaning it is an outdoor installation.

There is a gas kitchen available that must be used outdoors. The gas container is stored in a box outside. There is also a hob on the wood stove in the igloo, so you might also cook inside. You will find a pot for the hob in the igloo.

There is a wood-oven installed in the igloo. This will keep you warm and cozy, though you might have to get up once during the night on cold winter days to keep the wood burning.

There is a 5 liter water dispenser in the iglo available for you on arrival. This water is clean and you may drink it. Each location offers food you can order upon arrival. You will receive a text message from your host once you have booked your stay with a menu with additional things you can order. Other than that, you need to bring whatever you need. We advise you to keep it simple and good.

Hotel standard cleaning is executed between each visit. We do appreciate it if you leave the igloo and the outside area in a respectful condition.

Your bed will be readily made for you, so no need to bring sleeping bags etc. Duvets, pillows, sheets and bed linen are all provided. You will also have a gas kitchen with some simple kitchen equipment available – plus plates, glasses, knives, forks. Here are some things we recommend that you bring:

  • Clothing to suit the weather (better to bring an extra warm sweater)
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Food
  • Beverages
  • Shoes for nature (that can get dirty)

Check-in is from 16pm and check-out before 12am the next day.

Four people can sleep in one igloo. We do want to highlight, that it is comfortable for a family of four with two kids, and it is intimate for four adults sharing.

It is possible to change the date of your stay as long as the request is made two weeks in advance of your stay or more. We do not refund your money from cancellation unless exceptional circumstances.

Every iglo is located to give you full discretion, meaning it is outside of popular hikes where people walk and there are no other igloos in close proximity.

We would love it if you share your experience! Use hashtag #hvilepust.
